Super 15 Final

So it all boils down to 80min and the top two teams of this years Superugby Tournament. The new format consisted of 124 matches in 141 days, needs a re-look but because of economics I doubt it will be reviewed. The Reds have had a superb season, hosting their maiden final of the tournament at Suncorp. An improved outfit from last season and the sign of a good team is winning even when you dont deserve to, which was the case for the Reds on numerous occasions this year. Though this team doesnt the names of old Reds legends like Tim Horan, John Eales, Jason Little and David Wilson they are well on there way to becoming just as, if not better than those big names because they a team that work hard together and have moments of brilliance the rugby enthusiasts love seeing on a rugby field. Pivots Will and Quade the main culprits in the later, and will have to be well looked after as the Blues found out just a week ago that if the given space they punish you heavily. A New Zealand born Quad

And then there were four

Fact is there has always been two; with the two New Zealand teams having earned the right last weekend to join the Stormers and the Reds there. Both teams having a weekend off to prepare does give them a distinct advantage besides them being at home but as this competition has shown this year it could be a disadvantage too. Interesting things to happen this week the Stormers signed Schalk Brits as loose forward cover even though he is a renowned hooker, not saying his not good enough to play there its just as a capetonian I find it hard to fathom that there isn't a good enough understudy in this rugby rich region and lets be honest it might only be for one game. Its not to say he will even get on the field but what message are the Stormers sending out to all the loose forwards down in the south. The same Franchise that has a history of showing away talented players the likes of Derick Hougaard and more recently Francois Hougaard  which I'm told they'll be spending an arm
