Van Gaal's Galacticos host red hot Blues

Manchester United host the unbeaten English Premier League (EPL) leaders this Super Sunday and I don't know about you but I'm licking my lips at the prospect of seeing the multitude of talent that will be on display on the Old Trafford pitch.

Coach Van Gaal (LvG) could be without possibly United's best player in Angel Di Maria against Mourinho's Chelsea. The Argentinian has been so good since his joining in the summer that, with him in the team, it's not hard to fathom that United at home could win this weekend. But without him and the suspended Wayne Rooney, it's difficult to see LvG's side scoring enough goals to make up for their deficiencies at the back. Don't get me wrong going forward they could give the best teams in the world the run around but if I'm honest at the back its much like a colander, leading to their own down fall.

So LVG will be pleased to hear Chelsea have their own injury concerns over the fitness of Diego Costa and Loic Remy but despite that, Jose's side will still be fancied to come out of this fixture with at the least a point.

That I do feel could be the self proclaimed "The Special One's" Achilles heel in that he would be more than happy to go away from Manchester with a point, in fact come to Manchester looking for a point and at home United just have to win. Already they find themselves 10 points adrift of the leaders and with an eye on the Manchester Derby next weekend any further dropping of points just cannot be allowed.

Similarly, the Chelsea chief hailed his former boss as the best coach at the World Cup finals: "He did a fantastic job with a [Netherlands] team that, in my opinion, was not strong enough to arrive where they arrived. He is a very, very good coach and he'll be great for United. We are both great coaches; it's what we were born to do."

I don't see a goal-fest but it will be an enthralling encounter and if you look away you just might miss something.

The Premier League changes its logo.

The most lucrative football league in the world, The English Premier League (EPL), yesterday unveiled its new official logo, which will be used from the 2016-17 season onwards. The division's lion icon has been the face of England's top flight since its launch in 1992 but has undergone a makeover to give it a fresh, modern look. It means, EPL is ending its 12-year association with Barclays bank and will from now on be known simply as ‘the Premier League’. Ronaldo keeps on winning - Fifa Best Player Award

Cristiano Ronaldo was named the world's best player at the inaugural Best Fifa Football Awards in Zurich. Real Madrid and Portugal forward Ronaldo, 31, beat Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann to the prize.
